HIST 240 - (D) Modern Italy3 cr. This course will examine major developments in Italian history from the Napoleonic invasion until current crises of the Republic. Important themes for discussion will be the unification movement, the liberal state, Fascism and anti-Fascist resistance, the postwar Republic, cultural and social change, and economic development.
