ARTH 102 - (CA) History of World Art II: Forming a Christian Heritage

A survey of the art and architecture of early Christianity through the Reformation, 4^th - 17^th centuries.  Art of early Christianity, the Byzantine Empire, Romanesque and Gothic Europe, the Renaissance and Counter Reformation Europe will be studied in historical contexts of idea, style and technique.  A class field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (or relevant museum) is required.
