1st Yr. Seminar: MATH 110X - (FYS,FYDT) Mathematics for Social Justice
(Prerequisites: Math Placement PT score of 12 or higher, or ALEKS score of 61 or higher, or permission of the instructor)
This course uses math to facilitate understanding of social justice topics. The social justice themes will vary. Topics may include data exploration methods, studying income levels in the context of costs of food, home, child care, health care, education, etc., voting/social choice, fair division procedures, organ transplant distribution, financial mathematics, and sustainability.
