ME 470 - Vibration Engineering3 cr. (Prerequisites: ENGR 350 , PHYS 140 )
An introduction to the theory of mechanical vibrations including topics of harmonic motion, resonance, transient and random excitation, application of Fourier/Laplace analysis and convolution methods. Topics include vibrational control, measurement and applications, numerical integration methods in vibrational analysis. Multi-degree of freedom discrete systems including principal mode, principal coordinates and Rayleigh’s principle. Applications include the control of undesirable vibrations in structures, machines, and vehicles.
