The Computer Engineering curriculum prepares the undergraduate for both a professional career in Electrical and Computer Engineering and advanced studies in those fields. Our ABET accredited program provides each student with a uniquely transformative education that combines the latest in technology, procedures and practices of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering with a firm foundation in basic science and mathematics. Therefore, they are able to function in today’s technological environment and are prepared to understand the technologies that come in the future.

So they are not only prepared for the technical challenges they will face throughout their professional careers, they are also ready to face the personal and ethical challenges of modern life.
The technical core of the program emphasizes theoretical and laboratory skills, hardware and software skills, simulation and design. Technical courses are taught by faculty from both Computer Science and Engineering, ensuring balanced coverage and integration of hardware and software while basic science courses are taken with faculty from Physics and Chemistry, ensuring the depth and breadth of the coverage of these topics. The design process is emphasized throughout all four years, and design projects are incorporated into all laboratory courses. The core of the sophomore and junior years include courses covering computer algorithms, digital system design, computer architecture, embedded systems, computer interfacing and programming, which provides the background for their senior year, which includes electives for additional depth and breadth to their professional development, as well as a two-semester design project.
The liberal arts core ensures our students have a background in the Social Sciences, the Humanities, Philosophy and Theology, while the Eloquentia Perfecta program provides them with the writing and oral communication skills needed by the Engineering Professional.
