Supervision


IMPORTANT NOTE: 

The program of study below is to be used as a reference and guide for those students currently enrolled in an existing Supervision program.

New applications are not being accepted for the Supervision programs for the 2012-2013 academic year.

 

The Supervision program prepares school subject supervisors in the following areas:

Communication (English) Reading
Foreign Languages School Guidance Services
Mathematics Science
  Social Studies

Admission Requirements

For admission to the supervision program, an applicant must meet CGCE Admission Standards  and departmental requirements  in the Education section of this catalog. In addition, the applicant must hold a valid instructional or educational specialist certificate in the area in which the supervision certificate is being sought.

Course Requirements


The curricular requirements for a supervisory certificate require completion of 24 credits taken from the following list of courses. Students in the reading supervisor’s program need 27 credits. In addition, certification in the discipline to be supervised and five years of relevant experience in the discipline are required.
