EDUC 241 - Foundations of Reading, K-1

This basic course in reading provides an introduction to emergent reading at the kindergarten/first grade level. Knowledge, skills, techniques and methods essential for effective reading instruction across phonemic-awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension are examined. A demanding service-learning piece is incorporated into the course.
