HIST 216 - (CH,D) Race in American History3 cr. The course studies the role of race in American history from the colonial era to the present, focusing on the experience of African-Americans with consideration given to other racial and ethnic groups. Topics include: slavery; “Jim Crow” laws; the Ku Klux Klan; black migration of the 20th century; African-American community life; and the civil rights struggle.
