PHYS 350 - Applied and Engineering Mathematics3 cr. (Prerequisites: MATH 222 , PHYS 141/PHYS 141L ) This course derives and solves first and second-order ordinary and partial differential equations as applied to physical systems. Fourier series, Fourier transforms, and Laplace transforms are included; as well as, special functions, such as Bessel and Legendre. MAPLE and MATHEMATICA software are utilized. Three hours lecture. (Credit cannot be earned for PHYS 350 and ENGR 350 ) |
