NURS 522 - Physiology and Health Assessment of Nurse Administered Anesthesia I5 cr. Lecture focuses on a review of the complex relationship between anesthesia and pathophysiology of the respiratory, cardiovascular, and peripheral vascular systems. Physiologic monitoring is examined and related to specific anesthetic agents and pathologic conditions found in anesthesia. Pharmacologic implications as they relate to both the respiratory and cardiovascular systems are explored. Health assessment of the three systems will be performed. Clinical practice is concurrent with didactic learning. The student is given the opportunity to practice in the role of the nurse anesthetist.
